Time to summarize the year
Taking stock
2011 is almost over and it’s time for a recap. What happened during the year, which people would you like to thank, what kind of help do you need in order to get ahead?
This will be the third year I prepare a booklet where I collect my thoughts from the past year, but also look ahead. What would I like to happen during the next year? What are my dreams?
You can easily do a booklet yourself with the help of two pieces of hard cardboard paper which works as a wrapper and a number of sheets in between (more than 10). Use a stapler, maybe some colored pencils, light a candle and drink some tea. Now you are set to go!
You can write some short notes or sentences and illustrate your own images/cut out photos from magazines. It is your booklet, use the techniques you prefer.
Examples of questions/contents are:
- Summarize the year in the form of the four seasons.
What things do you remember particularly when it comes to spring, summer, autumn and winter?
- 10 things that happened which I am most grateful for
- People I would like to thank. Names and reasons.
Thank people in person as well!
- My greatest lessons and insights during the year which I will have good use for next year are…
- Decisions?
- I need help with…
- Wish List for 2012, what happens?
Write in the present tense, like you are already there and it will be much stronger.
- Personal goals and common goals for the family
- Own headlines
You have now sown new seeds to germinate during the next year.
Your focus is on what you want to do. Will do.
It helps you to take the next step for your personal or business development.
It will also make for an interesting read. Reflect and compare previous years. I wanted this in the future and now I’m there.
Good luck!
I wish you a creative year!
